Colin Campbell
After-dinner speaker
Colin is an experienced public speaker. His forte is humour in good taste – no smut, foul language or bodily functions – with yarns you could tell your mother-in-law. He normally talks without amplification or notes and easily slips into various accents.
A Scot born in Yorkshire, he has enjoyed careers as an officer in the Royal Marine commandos and an airline captain. Now retired, he has discovered another vocation in hospitality.

His interests include walking, mountain climbing, sailing and travel. He speaks several get-about languages and his book is available on Amazon.

He is widowed, has two daughters, a grand daughter and a great grand son. He lives in Dartmouth and has been chairman of two Probus Clubs in the area.

He is willing to travel and can tailor his talks to accommodate clients’ requirements.

Speaking Topics
An Evening of Gentle Humour
Things which have made me laugh. An eclectic compilation of short yarns, poetry and shaggy dog stories, which appeal to our intelligent brethren.

A Varied Life
A run through my past. From my upbringing on a yacht, to my various experiences in the film industry, as a restaurateur, an educator, and my careers in the Royal Marines, the airlines and beyond.

Addressing the Haggis
I wear full highland dress. This commences with a humorous explanation of the kilt and accoutrements, followed by the formality delivered in Lowland Scots:

-
The Selkirk grace
-
Salute to the piper
-
Robert Burns’ Address
(usually two verses, but this can be expanded)

CHARGES
Reasonable rates with travel expenses and dinner.
A bed for the night afterwards will be appreciated.
